Server 2012 R2 DirectAccess and multiple DHCP leases, why?

I've deployed Server 2012 R2 Remote Access with the DirectAccess and VPN features. Everything is working fine but I would like to know why my DHCP server has issued 4 different IP address leases (all at the same time) to my DA server when there are no standard VPN clients connected. I know that DirectAccess clients operate on IPv6 and uses the NAT64 functionality of the DA server to connect to internal resources, so why is the DA server requesting IP addresses from the DHCP server?

As I said before, my machine is connected via DirectAccess. I can remove the 4 IP address leases from the DHCP server and within minutes they are re-issued to the DA server, despite there being no traditional VPN clients connected. Any insight would be appreciated.
