Settings for server cannot be retrieved. You do not have permissions to access GPO domain.com

Hi girls and guys.

hope you can help me as I am at the end of my knownledge. I upgraded my "old" server 2012  to the newest edition 2012 r2 to use web application proxy. The update process was smooth and everything was good (dc and remote server). On the remote server I was running direct access server on 2012. When I opened direct access administration for the first time on the newer 2012 r2 I got this error:

Settings for server <Servername> cannot be retrieved. You do not have permissions to access GPO domain.com<GUID>

I really did everything I found on the internet like: permissions in sysvol, permissions in regedit, a few reinstallations, raconfig-task, etc.. As the new edition is not very old at all you cannot find a lot of stuff for this error. Direct access is still not working. I really do not know what the problem is like. I found out when I delete the linked "servergpo" (HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\RaMgmtSvc\Config) in regedit the admin panel of direct access works without an error. I think this is not a permission problem at the sysvol folder but as mentioned I do not know . Also the gpupdate /force and the gpresult /r are giving no errors. When I install vpn without direct access everything is working fine.

Please do not give advices such as reinstall server as this is unrealistic. We should solve the problem otherwise.

There is another interesting effect in the administration panel of direct access. When I configurate the web application proxy everything is working fine but after finishing it do not switch to the setup page where I can implement some remote-sites; it always returns to the configuration wizard as if I've never done it.

All in all I think there is a permission issue in the regedit!(?) Could that be possible? Please help! It is really annoying and our users cannot access our domain remotely.

Hopefully we will solve this problem and help others with the same problems.

Good luck
Chris
